Learning About our Sikh Neighbours

On Friday we were lucky to welcome some special guests from our neighbours at the Sikh Temple.  Having enrolled several children from Sikh families in the past few months, we had some questions and were very keen to learn about this beautiful religion and how we can best meet the needs of these little learners.  We learned about some of the very important values and cultural norms of the Sikh faith, as well as how to tie a turban for when our busy little Sikh friends need a hand while they’re at preschool.  This was such great learning for our staff and builds on our sense of community with our neighbours which is so important to us.  We love working with children and families from all over the world and from all different faiths.  We’re learning that despite different Gods, different ways of worshiping and different beliefs, we all share the values of kindness, respect and inclusion and that’s all we really need to thrive together as learners and friends.
