At Best Start Tory Street we recognised road safety week by talking about how we can be safe when travelling in a vehicle. We learned we need to be in a proper car seat with a 5 point harness. We highlighted the need to limit any distractions for the driver like not using cell phones or eating while driving and for us to stay calm and quiet in the backseat.

We talked about how we can keep ourselves safe while walking/biking and scootering to and from the centre that we always wear a helmet when on our bike and scooter, we hold an adult's hand and check for cars when crossing the road. We practiced crossing the road by using STOP and GO signs that we made.

To top off a great week we had a visit from an ambulance. Brendan the ambulance officer told us what an ambulance is for, we got to have a look inside the truck and looked at some of the equipment needed to help people in need and he even put on the lights and sirens. We learnt if we ever need help, we need to call 111.
