Being able to feel real grass between your fingers and toes and being able to smell freshly cut grass heightens all the senses.  What a great way to be able to nurture the exploration skills of our babies and toddlers.  We have a great patch of grass in our Tui room where the children can explore, play and learn to their hearts content.  Our view of the car park and road provides many different conversations with young tamariki and seeing the buses go past and the rubbish truck come into the car park is excitement for our little ones.

We have plenty of space for climbing and can change up our challenge courses to suit the needs of our tamariki.  There is also plenty of space for them to ride bikes and learn to walk.

On the hot days of summer there is plenty of shade to set up the water trough with water and when it is too cold for water, messy play is another great way for them to explore with their senses.

The sandpit provides hours of fun for the children where many skills are learnt whether this be communication, sharing and turn-taking or working on their motor skills.

The space is big enough for children to extend their gross motor skills and give them a place to have quiet time where they can look at the world go by, quietly explore different resources or sit and read books.

Come and visit the Tui room and see the great opportunities for your child.
