Learning is a community effort
Here at BestStart Vivian Street learning is a community effort, it's part of fulfilling our vision to ignite a passion for teaching and learning. One of our awesome parents, Richard Cane, took time out of his busy life (two boys who come to BestStart Vivian Street and a brand new baby) to make us this Discovery Box. He even painted it up for us!
Our Discovery Box gets us out into the community. We visit local businesses and let them know what our current interest is, and they hide something in our Discovery Box for us to talk and learn about at our centre. Then we write them a story with what we learnt, and take it back for them. In this way, children are exposed to local businesses, make relationships, keep learning fresh, relevant and interesting - all while bringing their "A game".
