Today I brought in my doppler machine from home, Saorise has been asking for it for as long as I can remember. I mentioned a few months back in passing that I was buying a machine that would allow us to hear the baby. In order for it to work I made sure I had lots to drink before we gave it a go. As we were scanning my stomach we talked about what the machine did and how we needed to be really quiet in order to hear the heartbeat. The baby was being a bit tricky and hiding so it took a while for us to track it down, it did this at the ultrasound also so I had a feeling we would have to wait a little bit before it cooperated. The look of excitement that came across the mokopunas faces as they heard the heartbeat was glorious.

Once we had listened to the heartbeat for a while, we moved to the art table and drew what we thought the baby would look like. We have some amazing artists here at BestStart Merivale. The pictures are proudly displayed in the classroom for you to have a look at. The mokopuna also added to their pictures what gender they thought the baby will be.

What a busy day we have had!
