Lunar New Year Celebrations

Lunar New Year is always a special celebration at our Centre. This year we celebrated with lots of activities over the whole week leading up to the New Year and then we also had a special dress up day on New Years Day. Our tamariki enjoyed learning about the animals in the Zodiac, the Chinese legend of the monster Nian and signing Happy New Year in different languages. Our Centre Manager Jude showed everyone the gesture of bowing in her culture. For afternoon tea we even tried some traditional dumplings. We are so lucky to have such diversity at our Centre as our tamariki love learning and celebrating all the different traditions and cultures.
