Making connections with Papatuanuku
This month at BestStart Paraparaumu tamariki (children) have been exploring loose parts and natural resources. Kaiako (teachers) have been setting up provocations that encourage them to use their imagination and connect with the resources.
These resources have given tamariki the opportunity to make connections with the wider community as they talk about visiting the beach and collecting their own treasures or talking about the flowers in the garden at home.
Kaiako love to make use of the resources available at the local beach and river and share them with the tamariki, talking about different adventures and making connections with Papatuanuku (Mother Earth).
