Making connections with whanau over lockdown
BestStart Flatbush launched BestStart@Home to keep connected to our children and families during the Covid lockdown. Our teaching team posted videos of mat time and activities on Storypark to provide learning activities for the children and support parents with at home learning. We have taken the children on virtual tours of museums, zoos and aquariums, creating amazing learning opportunities. We loved seeing the photos that families posted off the children engaged in the learning activities. The teachers scheduled zoom calls with the children to help the children remember their teachers and for the children to see their friends. Our team and families had lots of fun with the 3D animal feature appearing in their houses!
We are all looking forward to getting back to the centre and seeing all our wonderful children and their families and hearing about their lockdown adventures.
