Making language learning fun and exciting!
BestStart Wainoni Road is committed to supporting tamariki interests and whanau aspirations of the exploration of literacy. Over the last few weeks, the teaching team has created various ways to keep the language curriculum evident in our environment. Our tamariki have been engaging in experiences that support name recognition.
We have been thinking outside the box to make language learning fun and exciting. Recent involvement has been writing names on drinking cups and 'hide and seek' using name tags. We are also focusing on learning phonetic letter sounds over traditional letter names, learning phonetics will support for a smooth transition between preschool and primary school.
In addition to these experiences, we ensure tamariki are immersed in a rich language environment through daily conversations, routines, rituals, and stories. We love seeing the sense of pride on the faces of our tamariki as they accomplish each and every achievement.
