Our favourite part about making quiche was cracking the eggs into the jug. When asking the children where eggs come from, children answered, ‘from my fridge’, ‘my mum gets them from the supermarket’, ‘I eat eggs!’ As we mixed, we discussed that chickens lay eggs, they live on a farm, and the farmer collects the eggs, then the truck takes them to the supermarket for us to buy and take home. The children were so eager to eat their quiche, that they stayed at the table for 10 minutes while they cooked so they could eat them straight out of the oven while they were still warm.
