Maori Language Week at BestStart St Andrews
The children engaged in various learning opportunities with their teachers such as storytelling, singing and performing action songs in te reo, weaving, poi making, painting and art & craft. It was a great learning experience for teachers and children to learn poi making skills from whanau. These experiences support children to gain familiarity with and enjoyment of stories and literature valued by the cultures represented in the community.
