Today was a beautiful example of what happens when we all come together to meet around the same goal.  For weeks the children have been learning about Matariki, listening to the stories, singing songs and planning how to make our Matariki feast.  Over the last few days, children have been bringing in vegetables to contribute to our special shared soup, and the Pepi children have been making Maori bread together.  When we came together today in the foyer – our special hui space – the children could share what they had learned, and we counted ten different vegetables that the children could remember preparing for the soup!  We all shared in the soup and the very special Matariki bread.  It was a very special time to be remembered for our tamariki, our whanau and our Kaiako.  We look forward to looking back on these photos to revisit this learning and think about different ways we can all come together again soon.
