Our Kaiako weaved in Matariki programme over the two weeks where they engaged our Mokopuna in making stars, exploring Harakeke, designing their own kite, and having hands on experience to do plantation. We were blessed with the presence of one of our Grandma who taught our children the various techniques to make Matariki stars.

Our Whanau joined us for lively performance of Waiata and role play, ‘How does Kiwi lost his wings?’ which was followed by shared Kai where we all explored the unique taste of traditional Pumpkin and Kumara soup, fried Maori bread and the delicious food shared by our Whanau.

We were so proud of our Mokopuna, the confidence they have shown while performing waiata and role play. Thank you to each and every one who came along to join us for this wonderful Matariki celebration.
