Matariki Celebrations with Ascot Avenue

Matariki Celebrations with Ascot Avenue

What a busy month this has been, marking a memorable year with our first Matariki public holiday along with celebrating that we are midway through 2022!

We celebrated Matariki by inviting our whanau back into the centre after the changes in covid restrictions. Our whanau have been so delighted to be back inside and to enjoy each other's company. Throughout this time, we have been able to have more meetings online and more information sharing via online portals as well. Even so, we all understand that it is not the same as talking face to face.

Even with the masks on, we have enjoyed talking to one another and having that connection once again. Whanau's contribution is so important to us, and we really treasure the relationships that we have with them, as that is what supports us in providing the best care possible for our tamariki. It really takes a village to raise a child!

We also did our termly fire evacuation and earthquake drill. It has been lovely to see that our tamariki are still calm and understand these safety procedures.

It is important for us to have these procedures regularly so that when it does happen, they are confident and able to support one another.

Midway through this interesting year now, we are so proud of our tamariki for adapting to all the changes and being able to thrive in all these environments.

We are hoping for a wonderful rest of the year. What are your plans for the rest of 2022, I wonder?
