What a fun and exhilarating start to this year it has been! As we reached the orange light before the end of the year, we have been working towards a better sense or normality with our tamariki. They have all been very excited coming back to the Centre, seeing their friends and participating in all the activities. Before 2021 ended, most of our families were back, and we know of a few more coming back in January, so what better way to celebrate than making the most of every day?! Throughout January, we have a different theme for each day to welcome back our tamariki and whanau. We have had a variety of events, from science day to PJ Day, to sports day, to water play day, there was even an ice block making day!

Every day is filled with anticipation and excitement. Holistic wellbeing is very important to us. The children's emotional and physical wellbeing is something that we focus on day in and day out. This has become especially important as lockdowns and the traffic light system become a part of our norm. We are ensuring that despite the circumstances, our tamariki can learn to enjoy and make the most of each day. They learn to enjoy the time together, to treasure the memories made, and most importantly, they understand how to keep each other and themselves safe.

We still have another week of activities to go, and there is no limit to our imagination. Let's bring on 2022 with a bang and a continuous string of laughter! Spreading care and aroha, everyday heroes at Beststart Ascot."
