Nurturing kindness
Here at BestStart Hei Hei, we value the Tuakana-Teina relationships that we are able to foster through our free-play philosophy between the two over two rooms catering for children between the ages of 2 to 6.
Older children are often seen supporting their younger friends, sometimes in the simplest way holding their hand and taking them for a walk in the playground to playing and organising games such as hide and seek.
These experiences support children's contributions to play, where they build on each other's confidence to initiate, maintain and enjoy relationships with others.
