Here at BestStart Opihi, we celebrated New Zealand Sign Language Week from the 10th-16th of May. We talked about sign language and how it is a language that we can use to talk to those that can't hear our voice. We practiced two songs during the week, 'Kei Te peke a hau' and 'Baby Shark'. The tamariki enjoyed learning to sing these songs in sign. They showed great interest, concentration and focus when learning the signs. On top of this, we practiced signing colours.
