Our Fun Summer Holiday Programme
BestStart Pharazyn Street Kindy has a Summer Holiday Programme and these photos represent the many activities you have participated in. It was great to have Zappo the Magician in as this was an extra special treat. We have had lots of messy play and different experiments such as magic fizzing chalk and magic drawings.
What are tamariki learning through these experiences?
Messy play solutions such as finger paint, slime and gloop are usually set up outside. Teachers often talk with children about what they notice about the substance. Sometimes resources like cups, jugs and spoons are added to the mixtures. Water slides and sprinklers are among the favourites activities so far.
We did lots of arts and crafts activities such as mask making, painting, beads and keyring making. Children develop their hand-eye coordination, as they scoop, pour, mix and measure the mixtures.
Te Whāriki Exploration Goal 4: Children experience an environment where they develop working theories for making sense of the natural, social, physical and material worlds.
