Today our Montessori class walked to Mona Vale to study the beautiful Rose Garden.  Kaiako Lucy had prepared clipboards for everyone so each child could draw their favourite rose, and some people drew some bees they saw!  We used our senses to study our surroundings.  We could see roses of many colours, bees, trees and many kinds of plants.  We could smell the roses – some had such a strong and beautiful smell, and some didn’t smell at all!  We could hear insects in the trees.  We could feel the damp grass and the soft petals.  We could taste our fruit and muffins for the morning kai we shared under the pagoda.  Back in class, the children have sketches of their morning to colour in and keep.
