At BestStart Havelock North we decided to go to the supermarket! On the way we chatted about who would be pushing the trolley.

We took note of what to do when stepping up to the road. We waited then crossed, holding hands and watching what was happening in front of all of us. Being aware of what is around us is very important. We are concentrating on listening, looking and seeing what is going on. It seemed very quiet in the village this morning. The sun was shining in the bright blue sky.

When we got there, we checked out the trolley bay and discovered that there were enough little trolleys for our children to use. Looking on our shopping list we chatted about what we wanted to buy and looked at which aisle we needed to visit. We were on a mission to gather ingredients for baking healthy muffins. At the checkout each of our children stopped, paused and pulled from their trolley the ingredients we were purchasing to make muffins playing them on the counter to pay the cashier. We stopped and waited for our team to be finished. Then off we went outside to park our trolleys back to the bay. Back home we were so excited to be telling our whanau where we had been, what we had bought, and that there were trolleys for us.

What a wonderful time we had exploring out and about in our community.
