Play and learning with BestStart@Home
In this unprecedented time of Covid 19 lock down, our teaching team at BestStart Lemon Street continued providing a variety of play and fun learning for our children while staying at home with their families. Children have enjoyed various planned group learning activities based on their interests in their individual learning plans.
Children enjoyed lots of building activities posted on StoryPark which they practiced with their whaanau at home.
Teachers have shared different play dough recipes which parents have loved exploring with their children and have shared the photos with us.
A virtual dress up day was organised for the children to dress up in their favorite costumes from home. Children joined in the Zoom meeting with the teachers and have enjoyed interactive conversations while sharing their beautiful dress ups with each other.
We have had our weekly music sessions via Zoom meetings every Thursday. Children connected in from their homes using their mum/dad's laptops.
Parents have come up with such a great contributions to their children's learning, connecting through conversations on StoryPark with teachers and other peers and also through interactive Zoom meetings.
We have realised that this lockdown has actually strengthened the bond between our children, families, teachers and whaanau. We look forward to keeping on providing such meaningful learning experiences to our whaanau and children still staying at home at level 3 & level 2. And we look forward to welcoming our families and children back to the centre.
