The first prize for the raffle was a grocery hamper, second prize was a Tupperware package that had been donated by one of our parents, and third and fourth prize were Easter baskets. Our bake sale went off with a bang as it does every year. Families donated some delicious goods that included cakes, cupcakes, chocolates, cookies and more. We felt so lucky that our whanau were so willing to give their time and donate to such a worthy cause. We ended our week with an athletics evening that went off without a hitch. We had 4 main events including sprints, hurdles, frog jumps, and a gumboot throw where children of all ages got involved. It was heart warming to see the children’s smiling faces as they competed against one another, and to see our parents join in as they encouraged their children to participate. In all we raised over $355 for Plunket and as Kaiako, we left the evening feeling uplifted and proud to be a part of the centre that we work so hard to develop. We feel completely supported by our whanau, and our wider community and know that as we continue to work together we can do many more great things.
