We had a local community member Cherol Filbee and her friend Carol visit us at BestSart South Rd with a variety of amazing puppets. This was a planned experience by one of our kaiako (teacher) to extend on the children's current interest with puppets and re-telling stories using hand puppets.

The children walked the smaller bird puppets on strings around the room learning to control the puppets movement and take care of the special puppets. The children loved the puppets and really enjoyed getting to manoeuvre the puppets around. There was also a special puppet snake, a little boy puppet called Arlo and a lady who loved singing. This was heaps of fun and the children demonstrated kindness and respect towards the puppets.

This experience really brought our centre vision “Multiple Voices, One Community” to life, helping children to feel connected to our wider community and the wonderful people and experiences it holds.
