Rainbow our classroom pet
Rainbow our classroom pet has been reading with the tamariki, doing some art work and coming to mat time as well. Rainbow hands out wristbands for great listening, however he has been running out of them very quickly as the tamariki have been listening so well.
Rainbow has had a few sleepovers with some of the tamariki and it's great to see the care everyone is taking with Rainbow. Rainbow encourages great choices, gentle hands and helps to develop a sense of responsibility in a fun way. We are proud as all our tamariki have made it on the 'Good Choices' ladder. By putting their names on the ladder this has supported them to make great choices at tidy up time and mat time particularly.
We hope to take Rainbow on a library walk with us soon. We love seeing manaakitanga (caring) and ngākau atawhai (kindness) and sense of kawenga (responsibility) develop and extend in our community of learners.
