School Holiday Adventures at BestStart Montel Ave
As part of our school holiday fun here at BestStart Montel Ave, we went on a walk with the tamariki to explore Henderson Primary school which is right next door to our centre. The children were very excited about the walk there, simply crossing our car park and walking carefully up the school driveway! Once we arrived we discovered how much bigger the primary school is to our school. The tamariki were very excited about the bigger playground and our Be School Ready children were able to have a look around and become familiar with the primary school before they make their big transitions later in the year. It was a great opportunity for the children to get to know our community better and to extend and challenge themselves on the bigger playground, showing confidence and persistence as they navigated the steeper slide, balanced along the wobbly bridge and tried out the fireman’s pole! We love to utilise the Primary School playground during the school holidays and can’t wait for the next one!
