Sensory sensations in the Fantail Room
The children in the Fantail Room at BestStart Glasgow St just love sensory play - activities and materials which stimulate sight, smell, sound and touch - our current favourite.
Through the exploration of gloop, children are developing their sense of touch. Our children have enjoyed trying to scoop it up and exploring its textural properties where this can sometimes be quite a hard task.
Children are also working on their hand-eye co-ordination where they carefully lean in the trough, balance their bodies and scoop up the gloop with two hands.
We also explored how the gloop properties change when we put them onto different surfaces such as a child's head! This was so funny that all of the children wanted to explore gloop on their heads.
