Sharing Easter with our Archer Village friends
This year to celebrate Easter we invited our friends from Archer retirement village to join us in centre to share in some fun crafting time. The children and our elderly friends worked side by side in producing some beautiful and festive creation, including egg and Easter painting and collaging. This a beautiful example of a connection which displays the Maori principle of a Tuakana-Teina, in which the older or more expert; Tuakana helps to guide the younger less experienced, Teina. This is a principle that is well established in our preschool class of 2 to 5-year olds. Its lovely to see such a lovely interaction between the elder and younger generations.
