It was a beautiful, warm and sunny day today which made it the perfect day for some water play. We set up the sprinkler outside and the tamariki (children) excitedly joined in the activity, applying different strategies to feel the droplets of the water splashing on their faces.

All we could hear was the tamariki’s laughing and giggling as they are having fun exploring and discovering alongside their peers.  Playing with water supports learning across all strands of Te Whariki where children gain confidence in and control of their bodies, and where they learn strategies for active exploration, thinking and reasoning.
