School holidays are a great time to relax with the tamariki having lots of fun. This Wednesday our Beststart Marshland school holiday programme theme is Sports Day. Although we can’t spend time outside due to rainy weather, we still found a lot of fun inside for our children to stay active and engaged in several sports activities.

Teacher Maryanne organised and implemented a Ping-Pong ball activity with our tamariki. Through this experience, children listened carefully when the teacher explained the rules of the game. children were given two rackets and were paired with a classmate.

Maryanne demonstrated how to use the rackets properly. Children were totally engaged and concentrating intensely throughout the whole experience correcting their coordination and successfully catching the ping-pong ball. Children showed such interest and involvement immersing themselves totally in this game.

The Ping-Pong ball activity is supporting children to develop motor skills such as running, catching, hitting, and jumping, as well as learning hand-eye coordination. It also is a fantastic activity to teach our children to learn valuable life skills like concentration, dedication, and perseverance while enjoying the activity.

The smile on their faces told us how they enjoyed this activity especially sharing this experience with their peers. Mīharo!/ awesome, everyone!
