Working with and supporting whanau is very important to our centre. One of the things we do is support mothers with breastfeeding, welcoming them into the centre to breastfeed or store milk as required.

To bring in our "A game" of supporting mothers and babies hauora we invited La Leche League, the breast feeding support group, to come and share their knowledge about breast feeding and in particular, about how to continue breastfeeding whilst heading back to work.

In our  under two's environment at BestStart Vivian Street, our parents were given the opportunity to ask questions, get a better understanding of what's best for them and baby, feed baby, how to look after their own wellbeing and also how to invite extended whanau to join in with caring.

The next day, one of our Mum's shared a technique learnt at the talk here with La Leche League. That technique really helped with her and her child's sleeping. These are important moments for both mum and baby. Kia ora La Leche League for your support.
