At BestStart Weymouth, the tamariki in Kiwi room celebrated Te wiki o te reo Maori by engaging in a variety of activities ranging from art- Koru patterns, poi dance and also learnt basic Te Reo words.

Teaching the children about Maori values will help to strengthen the bi- cultural practices in the centre and will deeper the understanding of Maori tamariki and their whanau their unique place as tangata whenua.

Bicultural practice is part of the long-term review for the centre and what better way to do is start with the infant's classroom.
