Through out September and during Te Wiki o te Reo Māori- Māori language week, the nursery tamariki and kaiako have been further developing our knowledge and skills in Te Reo Māori as we acknowledge and celebrate the Māori language as a unique cultural treasure for all New Zealanders. With Te Reo Māori language being one of New Zealands offical languages, we along with many New Zealanders work hard through out the year to ensure the language is rejuvenated and preserved for future generations.

In the nursery we enjoyed exploring an interactive wall of Te Reo sayings, numbers and colours. Together we practiced our pronunciation and had discussions as we used the visuals to support the Māori language. We enjoyed exploring Māori patterns through art, using felts and paint as well as using clay with natural resources.
