The Chocolate Factory!
After a little while of stirring we added a rainbow of colours. We stirred and poured the gloop into our buckets appreciating the pretty swirls of colour. Slowly it turned to “chocolate”. We became a chocolate factory, perfect for Easter time. One chocolate mix had “chocolate eggs”, another “dinosaur eggs”.
Then I asked where does chocolate come from? The children answered “Pak-N-Save” and “the Easter bunny”. I asked where does milk come from? Trying to get them to think about the original source. They knew milk comes from a cow. We turned to Google for the answer to where chocolate comes from and discovered it's really the cacao bean or as Theo said “a cow bean”.
We had lots of fun mixing and then just for fun added some bright red. Suddenly it was no longer chocolate it was “butter chicken”, according to Amreen. Love how our children see things and adapt their play!
