The Pepi room team were given a challenge to create a box creature to hang in our entrance way – our Whare Waka – to go along with our lion and taniwha made by other classes.  Our Pepi team decided to create a tiger!

The reason they chose a tiger was because we've got a good amount of Indian families in the Pepi room and the tiger is one of the iconic characters in their culture. Tamariki (children) and kaiako (teachers) worked on this project together over a period of time, which provided opportunities for our children to develop social and physical skills as well as their language and curiosity.
