We had left over shredded paper that the tamariki used to experiment with. They were able to express themselves using there senses. Ki waho i roto i te papa takaro - outside in the playgound a few tamariki were pretending to be monsters, which we turned into a monster waiata and were able to use basic maths concepts  during our waiata. Ki roto- inside a few tamariki where having a korero about "he aha tera tae?"- "What is that colour?". Within this experience they were using mana reo - communication amongst themselves, helping each other to learn.
