It's been a month of learning about nature and science at BestStart Motutaiko. In our Titoki room we have been replanting our vegetable garden to get ready for winter, to help support our growing sustainable practices. The tamariki have been eager to help pull out the old plants and excited to plant new ones. This is a great way to support their growing awareness of how nature works and how to care and look after something. We look forward to eating some of these vegetables when they are ready.

The Tamariki in the Motutaiko room have been busy developing their knowledge of volcanoes. They have explored this through different science experiments, learning that every action has a reaction. They have also used different media through painting and paper mâché. The children are empowered as they take charge of their own learning, posing questions and finding answers.
