At BestStart Tawa South, we're committed to ensure our tamariki have the freedom to live, learn and grow. Our talented and passionate kaiako are always there to support, encourage, serve and ensure the needs of each tamaiti are met.

During the last month, our curriculum was created through the interests of our tamariki.  As teachers we provide the resources, time, space and support for our tamariki to explore, experiment and try things out.

Our four year olds have their Be School Ready mat time, where they learn to look after their belongings, they explore numeracy, literacy and comprehension – reading a story and drawing a picture of what they see. We ask open questions to extend imagination and knowledge. As part of our vision, we celebrate the different cultures in our centre and this month we celebrated Diwali. What a wonderful colourful day it was. Our kaiako and children worked alongside each other to tell the story of Diwali. We ate, danced and enjoyed the celebrations with our tamariki.
