Today in the Manuka and Nikau rooms Paula (our Head Teacher) had brought in a range of guitars and ukuleles from home for the children to experiment with. Music for our tamariki is very popular at BestStart Waiuku as it helps the body and the mind work together, particularly when the children are creating the music themselves.

Knowing that these were special instruments was part of the fun today as the children remained seated and carefully strummed away to create beautiful sounds.

Despite guitars being a solo activity the children sat around the couch and talked as they strummed, took turns waiting for a turn on a different type of guitar and shared the love for music with each other.
