Recently we have had a lot of our tamariki visiting the dentist for oral health issues.

As part of being in the Prep room our children learn to become more independent and take responsibility for themselves. We have decided to weave these together to help our children become more aware of the need to take good care of our teeth at a younger age.

Cait reached out to a community health promoter named Jenni who has kindly let us borrow her "Tooth Tools" to explore, she also put us in touch with Matt from Community Dental Service for further support.

We have had many discussions around foods that make our teeth happy and healthy and those that make our teeth sad and sore.
Everyone took turns brushing the big teeth, making sure to brush each tooth and where the tongue would be too. All while talking about when we should be brushing our teeth and what we need to use to make our hard work pay off.
