TopKids Bader celebrate Waitangi Day
We started the week by going to our local park and picked up rubbish. This is a really great way to physically engage our tamariki in what Waitangi day stands for. Looking after the whenua as a collective and not leaving it up to someone else. We then asked whanau to attend a great feast that consisted of 3 huge boil up pots and big bowls of fry bread. To ensure no one missed out I made my very first chicken boil up to cater to the diverse cultures in our centre. We created our own treaty for our pre-school room and read books that helped us to understand the importance of Te tiriti o waitangi and how we can all uphold this.
