Tree trust for the Te Tipu room
Today we decided to plant a Tree Trust in Te Tipu room. Everyone got involved in this project and had the opportunities to be competent and capable community learners. The tamariki were self-motivated and worked enthusiastically as a team with transporting, digging and planting. Through this activity, the tamariki gained understanding of being kaitiaki (guardians) of the trees and a deeper spiritual bond with Papatuanuku the Mother earth which links to Maori beliefs and sustainable aspects. This learning experience also supported children's physical development which involves all sorts of physical skills and the degree of workmanship to get the job done. Our tamariki will take care of their trees and watch them to grow.
