On the 29th of June there was a lot to celebrate at EduKids Queen. Matariki, the coming of the Māori New Year, the unveiling of our centre vision and the 21st Birthday of BestStart! For Matariki our tamariki did a wonderful performance of 3 new Māori songs that we have all been very busy learning then came together as a whānau to enjoy a delicious vegie soup.

Over the last few months, our team at EduKids Queen have been working on our centre vision and decided to unveil this at our Matariki evening. Our centre vision is “Where all cultures come together to learn” At our centre, the cultures and values of the teachers, parents and whānau enrich the learning experiences we share with tamariki and are at the heart of all that we do. Our parents/whānau were excited by this and said that this vision perfectly reflected the multiculturalism within the centre.

Along with celebrating Matariki and unveiling our vision, we felt this was the perfect time to celebrate BestStart’s  21 years of love and learning. BestStart gifted us a Harakeke plant which all our families took part in helping to plant. We called upon the Oliver family, who have been with us for just over 6 years to come and blow out the candles on the cake as we all sung Happy birthday. What a fantastic night we all had!
