Earth Day was celebrated with our pepi at Kaiako Stacy’s beautiful farm. Nga tamariki explored nature at its finest as we ventured all over the farm. We started by reusing our food waste from our centre to feed the pigs, goat, guinea pigs, ducks and chickens, then tamariki planted seedlings in the vegetable garden, which we will keep revisiting to care for. Nga tamariki thrived in the opportunities to be kaitiaki, caring for their natural environment and discovering interesting natural wonders… like circle feijoa’s and musical trees. Our vision of ‘nurture through nature’ is evident through steps we take daily to preserve our natural elements, make sustainable choices, reduce plastic for our pepi and take a natural approach to resources, opting for alternatives to plastic. Earth Day is a gentle reminder to preserve our world, we are fortunate to be able to provide opportunities for our tamariki to have an up close and personal relationship with nature.
