Virtual bubbles with whānau
At BestStart Montessori Rongotai we have been ensuring that during level 4 we stayed connected with our whānau. During these uncertain times it can truly cause a lot of stress, and we wanted to ensure that there were resources available to help make everyone’s day a little easier.
As a team we came together and brainstormed some videos and content we could share with whānau and tamariki.
These have included - yoga videos to ensure we are keeping our bodies calm as well as moving.
Art activities - like creating our own caterpillars and butterflies.
Healthy Heart baking activities from the Heart Foundation's website (banana and oat cookies and chia seed and oat pudding).
As well as some stories for night-time read by Hesti and Hannah.
It has been such a lovely wholesome experience and we are so lucky to have had such wonderful feedback as well as contribution from our whānau! We have loved seeing our tamariki and whānau taking part in our activities.
We have loved being reconnected virtually with a mat time every Friday where we sing songs, play games, and read stories – but most importantly, being able to see everyone’s face in the one place again!
