Waka ama Nationals - Lake Karapiro
Getting our tamariki out and into our community is a focus for us here at Best Start Dey street. So our Kaiako keep an eye out on what’s going on in our community.
In keeping and achieving our ‘Summer Fun’ planning focus at the moment and strengthening our links within the community and involving our tamariki in local Māori events; we took off to Lake Karapiro in Cambridge. Our tamariki got immersed in the amazing culture where we built upon our relationships within our whanau who were racing within the event. Our tamariki enjoyed watching the waka race and enjoying kanohi kit e kanohi korero with the competitors. Overall it was a fantastic day out where we all couldn’t stop smiling and taking in the experience.
