We opened our very own supermarket!
BestStart Oamaru Kindy has been very busy opening a new business! We opened our very own supermarket! This supermarket was very special as it was developed using recycled resources, some created resources and most of all it was sparked by the imagination of the tamariki at BestStart Oamaru Kindy!
The children took on different responsibilities of helping with the setup of the supermarket and then the running of the supermarket in different roles such as; manager, check out operator and restocking the shop. Once the shop was open for business all the customers received their very own EFTPOS card from the bank of BestStart. Then the fun began, the tamariki eagerly lined up and waited for their turns beautifully! The children selected their grocery items, swiped their EFTPOS cards, and entered their pin numbers. We had many happy customers and many happy employees!
