Over the past few weeks Koru Room have been learning about counting the beat, rhythm, naming and using musical instruments correctly, playing together and bucket drumming. Nga tamariki (the children) have really listened well to instructions as well as each other and the beat.
We looked and listened to how different sized buckets and metal cans make a different sound and also depending on if you tap them on the top or side. We learnt how to hold our drum sticks correctly. Nga tamariki have repeatedly returned to the buckets and instruments either independently or in large groups to experiment, play and create. WE WILL, WE WILL, ROCK YOU!
