Winnie the Pooh Day at Parahaki Court Resthome
Our friends from Parahaki Court invited us to celebrate Winnie the Pooh Day that highlighted friendship and kindness. A group of children together with our parent volunteers Danica and Nicole visited the resthome today to join in their festivities and spread our own dose of kindness to them. Allie, one of the resthome staff read us a poem about all the fun of being young children while on our end we shared the story “Fox Makes Friends” We also sang them our song “This Little Light of Mine” and some of our nanas and poppas sang along with us! What a surprise that they also know our special song about kindness! We then enjoyed a healthy morning kai with them. This was the highlight of our visit because we were able to encourage the resthome to serve healthy food. We were delighted to spread a different meaning of kindness through sharing our healthy eating habits, a way to be kind to our own body, mind and spirit by looking after our wellbeing through healthy eating. Of course, we ended the visit with lots of cuddles to our nanas and poppas and a promise to be back for more frequent visits.
