Yay For Fridays transition to school programme
It has been wonderful for our Kindergarten room to be able to resume our weekly visits to the neighbouring school, Pleasant Point Primary, for their Yay For Fridays transition to school programme. Each Friday morning, sometimes with one or two parents in support, a wee group of our oldest children soon to be heading to school, make the short walk next door to Miss K's room to familiarise themselves with what school will look like for them and to get to know their soon to be new teacher. It is also a wonderful opportunity to reconnect with friends from kindy already there and for those with older siblings attending the school to share their knowledge of the classrooms and playgrounds through their previous experiences. These weekly visits during term time are really looked forward to and are valued as a part of how we support our tamariki and their whanau to have happy, smooth and successful transitions between our kindergarten room and their new school, cementing our connections with our local community.
