ABC Dinsdale is a large purpose-built centre with individual rooms to cater for separate stages of development. At ABC Dinsdale, we believe respect is the foundation for empowerment and supporting tamariki to reach their full potential.
Kākano Room - Welcomes tamariki from 3 months to 2 years of age. We believe in a peaceful curriculum approach, which promotes the utmost respect for each child, through this we follow the individual routines for each child. We understand that positive interactions with babies at this age will affect their physical, emotional, social and intellectual development. We use and promote baby sign language. “Baby Sign Language is all about using simple gestures with your child to allow you to communicate long before they have mastered the intricacies of speech,” states Robyn Halt, founder of Baby Talk. We also provide all nappies, wipes, milk and food for our Under 2’s.
Pakiaka Room - This room welcomes tamariki 2-3 years of age. Teachers have developed a programme and environment that enhances this unique stage. Toddlers love to get physical! The programme for toddlers is centred on a philosophy of ‘play with purpose.’ A variety of activities are planned for each day such as dressing up, painting, working with play dough, building blocks and so on.
Putiputi Room - Welcomes children from 3 years old until they are ready for school. In preschool there is a bigger emphasis on independence, curriculum extension, and school readiness. We utilise the most current theories around literacy learning, including socio–cultural theory, the Whole Language approach, and multi-literate and multi–modal approaches to find the best way to support your child’s connection to language.

kind words from our parents
My son and I always feel welcome – I believe the atmosphere of the centre is very telling. It is a happy, busy, colourful place which my son enjoys. The staff are wonderful and caring and I appreciate the level of communication they have with me. My son is doing activities I never considered and the resources are great for developing minds. I love Storypark and hearing about my sons learning – his grandparents like being involved in this too
What enticed me to chose this centre was the friendliness and welcoming I felt when I came to visit and there after.
We love Storypark, think its the best way for us to see and share our children’s learning.
Absolutely satisfied with ABC Dinsdale. I have a great relationship with the staff and I am confident my son is getting terrific support and care. My baby comes home happy and never hungry. I like the healthy food options that the centre provides.
Happy Teacher’s Day to all the great teachers at ABC Dinsdale. I personally know first hand that you guys are truly amazing. Thanks for being super awesome and for all the great work you have put in for my sons. I appreciate all that you have done.
